Hit The Refresh Button

Whether you’re back to work or back to school, you’re back to reality, so we want to help ease the transition from holidays to life as you settle into your new year routine.

We’ve got loads of little bits (and tips) that can be incorporated into your home and beyond to make you feel refreshed and ready to take on the new year.

Make Your House A Home

Turning your home into a temple of peace, love and creativity to ensure you’re in a cocoon of positive energy is just five steps away.

  1. Linen Loving

Not only are linen sheets buttery-soft and beautiful to look at, but they also keep you cool in summer and warm in winter, making restful nights sleep more consistent than ever. Our favourite is Briscoe’s Pure Linen Sheet Set that comes in a range of shades. If you’re in doubt of what shade to select, go for a classic white. It’s timeless, sophisticated and injects instant brightness into your bedroom.

  1.   Plantopia

One of the simplest ways to refresh your space is to introduce signs of life, you’ll begin to feel more at home than ever. The best way to go about this is welcoming big, leafy plants that bring all the greenery and colour that you see outdoors, in. Elevate a room further by popping them in trendy pots for added style.

If you lack plant parent confidence, there’s no judgement if you settle for an artificial option. Kmart is home to some seriously epic faux flora items. If you have the space for a statement plant, try the Artificial Fiddle Leaf which comes in a modern white pot, sure to suit any room. Or if you’re limited in space, add some greenery to a tabletop with the small Artificial Succulent in Terrazzo Pot, or opt for a hanging style, like the Artificial Hanging Ceramic Pot Plant.

  1. Burn, Baby, Burn

Create an ambient space where you feel comfortable to unwind after a long day with a beautiful candle to really set the positive, relaxing mood. Candles are more than decor, they help sharpen your mind, create a cosy vibe and even have the power to transport you to another destination entirely. Fiji anyone? The Smith and Co Lime and Coconut Scented Candle from Bed Bath and Beyond will take you there. Or if you’re after something on the sweeter side, The Aromatherapy Co. Honey & Incense Luxe Scented Candle is a must, with the added bonus of being able to re-purpose the ceramic holder, perfect for a tapered candle.

  1. Tea, Please

There’s something about having a variety of tea (or coffee if that’s your love language) tucked away in your kitchen cupboards that make a house feel like a home. And in Summer, what better way to refresh than a delicious iced tea? Pretty much all your favourites can be iced, here are easy tips on how to make your regular tea iced, which you can garnish as you please, from lemon to mint or berries. The Healtheries Teas from Chemist Warehouse are seriously tasty. Warning, if you stock up guests may never leave after crowning you as the official host with the most (tea).

  1. Self-Care 101

Now that your space is feeling more zen-like, don’t forget to pamper yourself to feel refreshed from the inside out. We all need some time to recharge after a stressful 2021, and what better excuse do you need to treat yourself to a facial so you can glow and go your way through the new year. No matter what your age or skin type is, the team at Sisters Beauty will help you achieve healthier, more beautiful looking skin with their luxurious facials.
