Founder Story – Eva from Eva Top Beauty & Nails
Before moving to New Zealand, I had just completed my university degree in accounting in Vietnam. In 2012, my husband, a New Zealand citizen, and I made the life-changing decision to begin a new chapter in New Zealand, a country we believed would offer a beautiful environment and greater opportunities for our family.
Like many immigrant journeys, our beginning was humble. We once operated a small Vietnamese food stall at a night market. I have always loved Vietnamese cuisine and hoped to share that passion with others. However, as our child was still very young at the time, we chose to pause that dream and focus on our family.
Everything changed in 2013
Through a friend, I was introduced to the beauty industry, and in that moment I discovered a passion I never knew I had. My love for beauty, creativity, and artistry was awakened, and I realised this was the path I wanted to pursue for the rest of my life.
From 2013 to 2018, I worked in a nail salon where I gained valuable experience and developed my skills. Yet deep within me was a vision to bring something new and different to the nail and beauty industry in New Zealand. I was not satisfied with simple styles. I was drawn to creativity, innovation, and artistry.
I spent countless hours studying international trends from the United States, the United Kingdom, and other leading beauty markets. Through dedication and self-learning, I explored advanced techniques such as 3D nail artistry, ombré designs, and wispy lash styling—many of which were still unfamiliar in New Zealand at the time.
Driven by passion and determination, I eventually transformed a small garage at my home into my very first studio. It included a lash room, a nail room, and a spa pedicure area. I worked independently, carefully building my reputation through quality, creativity, and genuine care for every client.
What began as a small home studio soon grew beyond my expectations. Clients appreciated the unique designs and the attention to detail that could only be found at Eva. Word spread quickly, and my schedule became fully booked.
From working alone, the business gradually expanded into a company with a small team.
In 2021, we proudly opened the first official location of Eva Top Beauty & Nails at Manukau Supa Centa.
Today, Eva Top Beauty & Nails has grown into three locations across Auckland:
Manukau
Pakuranga
Henderson
This growth was never part of a grand plan. It happened because of the love and support of our loyal clients. Many would ask, “Do you have another location closer to us?” Their encouragement inspired us to expand so that more people could experience the services we offer.
At Eva Top Beauty & Nails, our philosophy has always remained the same: to work with heart, passion, and kindness. I believe that when you continuously improve yourself and truly care about the people you serve, success naturally follows.
