Reaching The Boundary in a Roundabout Way

Not only is The Boundary greenifying and energising central Henderson, but the construction of a new roundabout outside the entrance to the carpark underneath Kmart will make accessing it easier and safer for vehicles and pedestrians alike.

“The roundabout promises to make it much more convenient to get around and across the centre,” says Jarrod Reilly, retail director at Colliers International, who manage the space, “as well as alleviating the bottle neck around the food precinct that at the moment can get quite congested.”

Work is already underway outside West Auckland’s most imaginative retail redevelopment, with the roundabout set to officially open early in the New Year. To minimise disruption for both shoppers and traders, the roadworks will be halted over the Christmas period. The project was designed by traffic engineers and landscaper Richard Greenwood, the man tasked with The Boundary’s greenification.

“Though the entry-exit is the most accessible for those arriving from the motorway end, it is currently easy to miss,” adds Jarrod. “The new layout, along with some internal reconfiguration beneath Kmart, will mean a much better experience for shoppers, with an improved traffic flow to make The Boundary even more user-friendly.”
