All’s Well at The Boundary

With winter upon us, it’s not just the cold we have to battle but, alas, the potential ailments that come with it. But as always, you can count on The Boundary—or, more specifically, our good friends at the Chemist Warehouse—to help alleviate the winter blues and fight off infections.

Influenza—commonly referred to as “the flu”—is highly infectious and can affect anyone, but some young kids, the elderly, and those with certain existing health issues are especially at risk. The flu affects one in four Kiwis each year, and though up to 80 percent may not show symptoms—which include fever, fatigue, muscle pain, runny nose and a sore throat—they are still able to pass the infection on. Immunisation is the best protection and anyone can have the flu vaccine. For over-65s, pregnant women, and those aged under-65 with certain medical conditions, vaccination is free. The Chemist Warehouse is offering a flu immunisation service at clinics in-store, administered by a qualified health professional.

Remember that this time of year it’s more important than ever to eat well, socialise lots and exercise heaps—endeavours that aren’t always easy when we want nothing more than to crash on the couch wrapped up in a big cosy blanket! Seasonal affective disorder, or ‘SAD’, affects many during the shorter days, so it’s important to make the most of any winter sunshine to help stave off depression. Those prone to feeling down during winter may also benefit from vitamin D supplements. The Chemist Warehouse has these, as well as heaps of other vitamins and supplements at rock bottom

For those already feeling under the weather, the Chemist Warehouse also stocks a sprawling range of medicines at warehouse prices, including much trusted brands such as Panadol, Nurofen, Lemsip and Strepsils. And don’t worry if you’re feeling too poorly to venture outdoors, there’s free delivery on orders that total $50 or more. Chemist Warehouse also offer massive discounts on prescriptions—and scripts can be sent to them by mail.

So, from everyone here at The Boundary family, keep warm and stay well this winter! For more information, visit
